For over three decades, Dr. Davis has worked to create a world-class, high-tech dental office designed to meet the dental needs of his busy Morehead City patients. The result is a dental practice that stands above the rest. Dr. Davis has built his practice so that families can comfortably receive the care they need from experienced, compassionate dental professionals in a welcoming environment.
Growing up on the Crystal Coast, Dr. Davis always knew he wanted to return to Morehead City to build both his career and his life. After earning his undergraduate degree and Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UNC Chapel Hill, he returned home in 1994 to open his dental practice. His parents pitched in to help paint and prepare the office, while his wife, Beth, worked alongside him from the very beginning. Together they built the practice from the ground up while raising their three sons, Tanner, Carson, and Sawyer. Today, they are also proud grandparents to their grandson, Grayson, the son of Tanner and his wife, Kasey.
More than 30 years later, Dr. Davis continues to provide the same personalized, compassionate care that has been the foundation of his practice since day one. His commitment to embracing the latest advancements in dentistry keeps the office equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Digital X-rays and computer-assisted CEREC same-day crowns allow for thorough diagnoses and many restorations to be completed in a single visit. Dr. Davis provides a full range of dental services, including cosmetic veneers, crowns, fillings, root canals, and removable appliances such as partials and dentures, helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles for years to come.
Dr. Brittany Goots, DDS
Doctor of Dental Surgery
Dr. Brittany was born and raised in Beaufort, North Carolina, and has been part of our practice family since high school, when she began shadowing Dr. Davis and discovered her passion for dentistry. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Public Health from East Carolina University before receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from West Virginia University School of Dentistry.
She is committed to providing compassionate, patient-focused care and strives to make every visit comfortable, personalized, and stress-free. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, including preventive care, restorative dentistry, cosmetic treatments, crowns and bridges, fillings, and helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles through comprehensive dental care.
While attending dental school, she met her husband, Dr. James Goots, and together they made Morehead City their home to serve the community they love. They still frequent the country roads of West Virginia, where her husband is from, and they attend the Mountaineer football games at WVU. In April 2026, they welcomed their daughter, Gia.
Outside the office, she loves spending quality time with James and Gia, as well as with their friends and family. Whether they’re boating, enjoying the pool, soaking up the sunshine, or simply making memories together, family time is the highlight of her weekends. She also has a passion for traveling and adding stamps to her passport. Whether she is caring for patients or exploring a new corner of the globe, she values building meaningful connections and creating lasting memories.
Kathy Hepler, CDA
Certified Dental Assistant - Dr. Davis
Kathy has been alongside Dr. Davis for over 30 years. Her contagious smile makes our patients feel right at home. As loyal as she is to our practice, she's just as devoted to her family. If you don't see Kathy in Dr. Davis' shadows, she's loving on her grandchildren Blakelynn and Jacson or keeping up with the family's busy schedule.
In the summer months, Kathy enjoys boating to Shackelford Banks and relishing the cuisine that her husband, Alex, prepares at home. She and Alex live a healthy lifestyle, and can be spotted frequently at the Sports Center. The pair are quite the social butterflies; if you notice them around town, be sure to say hello!
Amanda Willis
Dental Assistant - Dr. Goots
Amanda was born and raised in Morehead City. During her senior internship at Barrett Davis and Associates, she discovered her passion for dentistry and knew it was the career she wanted to pursue.
Amanda absolutely loves being a dental assistant. Helping patients feel comfortable, confident, and proud of their smiles is the most rewarding part of what she does. She enjoys getting to know each patient and making every visit as positive and stress-free as possible.
When she's not at the office, Amanda enjoys everything coastal living has to offer, whether she's spending the day at the beach or out on the boat. She also loves traveling, exploring new places, and trying new adventures. Most importantly, she cherishes spending time with her friends and family, especially her son, Kaz, who is her whole world. Making sure he's happy and healthy is her greatest joy.
Amanda looks forward to continuing her career in dentistry for many years to come and helping patients leave with healthy, confident smiles.
Leah Sawyers, RDH
Dental Hygienist
Leah was raised in Swansboro, North Carolina, and is grateful to now be caring for patients in the community that she calls home. After graduating from high school, she moved to Florida, where she earned her dental hygiene degree at Florida State College at Jacksonville. After several years in Florida, Leah returned to eastern NC in 2022 to be closer to her family.
Leah is passionate about helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles and enjoys building lasting relationships with those she cares for.
Outside of the office, she loves spending time with her family and friends and enjoying adventures with her dog, Carolina.
Megan Jenkins, RDH
Dental Hygienist
Megan has been in dentistry for 26 years. She loves meeting new patients and truly getting to know them and their families while ensuring they feel relaxed and comfortable in the dental chair. She enjoys seeing their big smiles after their dental care and witnessing the positive difference it makes in their lives.
Outside of work, Megan enjoys being outdoors, crafting and making shirts, and spending time with her two boys, Thomas and Nathaniel, as well as her two tuxedo cats, Kiki and Slinky.
Meg Rodamaker, RDH
Part-Time Dental Hygienist - Mondays & Wednesdays
Meg has been a registered dental hygienist since 2014 and has proudly been part of Barrett Davis and Associates for the past nine years. She is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable, confident, and well cared for. She believes building genuine relationships is one of the best parts of her job.
Outside the office, Meg lives on the Crystal Coast with her husband, Jeremy, and their senior pup, Tramp. She enjoys spending time on the water, staying active, traveling, and cheering on the Carolina Hurricanes. She and her husband love booking flights, planning adventures, and exploring new destinations, whether it's discovering a hidden Caribbean island or simply making memories together wherever they go.
Known for her warm personality and attention to detail, Meg strives to make every patient feel at ease while providing the highest quality care. She feels grateful to be part of a team she considers family and looks forward to welcoming both new and returning patients with a smile.
Madeline Furtner, RDH
Part-Time Dental Hygienist - Tuesdays
Madeline has been part of Barrett Davis and Associates Family Dentistry since she was just six years old, when Dr. Barrett became her dentist. A Pine Knoll Shores native, she still lives in her hometown with her husband, Kevin, a general contractor, their son, Carrsin, and Australian Labradoodle, Radar.
Inspired by her Mimi, who was also a dental hygienist, Madeline followed in her footsteps and officially began her career in dental hygiene in 2011. She loves building lasting relationships with her patients and making everyone who walks through the door feel like family.
Outside the office, Madeline enjoys home design and decorating, often helping with the homes she and Kevin build in Pine Knoll Shores. She also cherishes traveling with her family, especially to Disney World, the Florida Keys, and the Bahamas, where they make lifelong memories together.
Madeline has a twin sister who does ultrasound at Carteret OBGYN, so if you happen to see them around town in scrubs, you may have to look twice! She is grateful for the friendships she has built with both her coworkers and patients and feels honored to care for the smiles of the community she has always called home.
Mary Willis, RDH
Part-Time Dental Hygienist - Thursdays
With more than 40 years of experience in dental hygiene, Mary Willis brings a wealth of knowledge, clinical expertise, and a genuine passion for helping patients achieve healthy smiles. In addition to her clinical experience, she has an extensive background in public health dentistry and proudly serves as a member of the Carteret County Board of Health.
A lifelong Carteret County resident, Mary has deep roots in the community and enjoys caring for generations of local families. She is happily married and the proud mother of two adult children. Her family also includes two bonus grandchildren, one very spoiled dog, and an even more spoiled grandson who keeps her smiling.
Known for her warm personality and quick wit, Mary is always ready with a great story or a laugh to help patients feel at ease. She believes a comfortable, welcoming environment is just as important as excellent dental care.
When she’s not in the office, Mary enjoys traveling, working in her yard, spending time with family at Cape Lookout, and relaxing by the pool.
Mary has been a familiar face at our practice for several years, helping out whenever needed. Now enjoying partial retirement, she continues to share her experience, compassion, and sense of humor with our patients every Thursday.
Ashlee Revell
Patient Care Coordinator
Ashlee grew up in Morehead City and, after spending a few years living in Charlotte, returned home to the Crystal Coast, where she truly feels she belongs. She joined our practice in 2020 and loves building relationships with patients while helping create a welcoming experience from the moment they walk through the door.
Outside of the office, Ashlee’s greatest joy is spending time with her daughter, Kynlee, who is growing up way too fast. The two are inseparable, and Kynlee is truly her mini-me. Whether they’re making memories together or enjoying everything coastal living has to offer.
When she’s not at work, you’ll likely find her soaking up the sunshine, spending time on the water with friends, or enjoying an occasional fishing trip. Ashlee is grateful to be part of our dental family and looks forward to caring for our patients for years to come.
Tina Turner
Financial Coordinator
Tina brings 40 years of experience as a certified dental assistant to her role as Financial Coordinator at Barrett Davis & Associates. Although she retired from clinical dentistry, she continues to put her extensive dental knowledge to work by helping patients understand their treatment and navigate the financial aspects of their care with confidence.
In 2016, Tina and her husband, John, relocated to the beautiful Crystal Coast, where they have embraced the coastal lifestyle. They enjoy boating, traveling, and spending time with their dog, Baxter. Together, they are also restoring and caring for their 100-year-old historic home. A project of labor and love that keeps them busy and inspired.
When she's not at the office, Tina treasures time with her three grandchildren, Hank, Harbor, and Blakely, and values making lasting memories with her family and friends.
Kristi Harless
Insurance Coordinator
Kristi is the Insurance Coordinator at Barrett Davis & Associates, where she is dedicated to helping patients navigate the often-confusing world of dental insurance. She works closely with patients and insurance companies to maximize benefits, answer coverage questions, and make the financial side of dental care as simple and stress-free as possible.
Known for her attention to detail, organization, and compassionate approach, Kristi enjoys finding solutions and advocating for patients throughout the insurance process. She understands that every patient’s situation is unique and takes pride in providing clear communication and personalized support.
Outside of the office, Kristi enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her dog, Sadie. On most weekends, you can find her attending live music events, boating, beaching, bike riding downtown with friends, or tending to her garden. Being from Morehead City, she values making the most of her time outside and appreciates the simple joys of coastal living.
Beth Davis
Office Manager
Beth has been part of Barrett Davis and Associates since the very beginning. She and Dr. Davis were married while he was in dental school, and together they built the practice from the ground up. What started as a dream has grown into a practice that has proudly served the Morehead City community for decades.
As the Office Manager, Beth works behind the scenes to keep the practice operating smoothly by ensuring the bills are paid on time and creating fun team-building activities that help support staff morale. Her organization, dedication, and caring spirit help create the welcoming environment that patients and team members enjoy every day.
Outside the office, Beth's greatest joy is her family. She and Dr. Davis have three sons, Tanner, Carson, and Sawyer. They recently celebrated becoming grandparents, affectionately known as BeBe and Papa, with the arrival of their first grandson, Grayson. When she's not at the office, Beth enjoys spending time with her family, shopping, boating, traveling, and making memories with the people she loves most.
Sawyer Davis
Social Media Manager & Sterilization Expert - Summers
Sawyer was born and raised right here in Morehead City, North Carolina, and is excited to spend his summers serving patients in his hometown. He is currently a student at Queens University of Charlotte, where he is pursuing a degree in Sports Communication while competing as a Division I student-athlete on the university's track and field team. Sawyer competes in the high jump and hurdles, balancing his academic and athletic commitments with dedication and enthusiasm.
At the office, he serves as the Sterilization Expert, helping ensure a clean, safe, and efficient environment for both patients and the dental team. He also manages the practice's social media, creating engaging content that highlights the office, educates patients, and shares the team's personality with the community.
Outside of work and school, he enjoys staying active and spending time with family and friends. He loves playing volleyball with his father, Dr. Davis, on their team, the Cavity Crushers, spending time on the boat along the Crystal Coast, and line dancing whenever he gets the chance. He is proud to be part of the practice and enjoys helping create a welcoming experience for every patient who walks through the door.
